Meditation Guidance

Dr. Ryan and Ana have decades of meditation experience grounded in a Chan (Zen) lineage of meditation. While in China, Dr. Ryan immersed himself in mind-body cultivation through internal martial arts and Chan meditation. Ana follows the teachings of the Western Chan Fellowship and integrates qi gong in her meditation guidance to remove emotional obstacles to inner peace.

While the basis of meditation and why meditation works are the same for all, the teaching methods are tailored to each individual based on their unique interest and experience with meditation, their physical and emotional issues, their lifestyle and their goals. In teaching meditation both Dr. Ryan and Ana include:

Movement meditation practices like qi gong, yoga and standing meditation

Basic sitting practices such as breathing, mantra and mindfulness methods

Advanced sitting practices including energy work and chan (Zen) methods that reveal the mind to itself

Dr. Ryan has a degree in nutrition and has used food as a tool to bring about healing and wellness.
